The article analyzes the genre and generic specifity of the lyric drama by Ya. Mamontov "The girl with harp" in consequence of such analysis the discrepancy between the author's pragmatic in the title of the play and peculiarity of play's poetics, which reflect the ironic pushing aside of the "new drama" and characteristic indications of lyric outgiving in the drama is studied. It allows to say about the mistification of the reader by the author.

Therefore, absurd is the means of depiction of our irrational world, it also harmoniously continues the realistic tradition.
