It is outlined that in the further development of the eschatology idea up to its understanding as individual, the Christianity uses the image of the mountain.

The researchers’ works were analyzed in details, including "Folk Songs of Galician and Ugrian Rus" by J. Golovatskiy. The works by V. Hnatiuk were valuable in the research of the south lemkiv folklore, mainly "Wedding in Keresturi". In discoverings by F. Kolessa the scientific characteristic of lemkiv musical dialect was provided for the first time.

The translation peculiarities of the legal terms are analyzed on the example of the "European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms" (1950). It is determined that the assurance of the text authenticity of the regulatory legal acts and the "Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms" while translating legal terms is one of the practical steps towards the confirmation of the supremacy of law in Ukraine.

The article is devoted to the research of antonyms in the context of their pragmatic characteristics. The mechanisms of forming the pragmatic meaning of antonyms are analyzed, the typical schemes by means of which the present meaning is realized in the speech are revealed. It is discovered that the meaning that appears in the result of using the language units with the opposite semantics in the speech can be considered as the pragmatic meaning of antonyms.

The author takes an attempt to regard the pre-romantic and romantic tendencies in this novel, taking into account its background and genre, and comes to the conclusion that the Gothic form of this novel reflects the esthetic principles of Romanticism, imminent to the English writer.

The notion of the paratext and its peculiarities are theoretically noted in the article. The theory of paratextuality, investigated by G. Genette, is very often used in the modern practice of literary text. So, the paratextual concept widens the borders of text understanding, permits to follow the influence of different paratext constituents and also opens the new text contexts.

It is discovered that the metalogical Woman's image, created by the means of "masks"-symbols, personifies the native land. Through the symbolic images-"masks" the poetess shows its advantages and disadvantages, virtues and vices, displaying her own vision of Ukraine.
