The article considers the pedagogical practice as the impartial part of the educational process, which task is to teach students to apply scientific-theoretical knowledge from the sphere of pedagogy, psychology, professional methods, and also improve the corresponding practical skills. The historical and pedagogical analysis of the future teachers' practical preparation is carried out, the periods of establishment and development of the pedagogical practice system are singled out. The conclusion is made on the practice efficiency, having the continuing character, namely being conducted on all levels of education. It is determined that pedagogical practice should be considered as the profitable area forming the future teachers' communicative professional skills.

The article is devoted to the research of contextual and integral indicators in the structure of the word. The guiding idea is that the domineering role in determining the meaning of a word plays not the context but generalizing abstracted activity of thinking. The extracted stable invariant integral component in the structure of the word singles out its numerous hidden senses in the new contextual environment. The invariant semantic content is termed "meaning" determined by the language and the variable content "sense" determined by the speech.

Pomirko R. S. Variability of Language Games in Syntactic Structures (on the Basis of Lolspeak)

The goal of this study was to analyze the sentence structure (syntax) of the Lolcats language, a collection of user-created pictures of captioned cats. This variant language, Lolspeak, varies most notably from standard English in spelling and morphology, but there are also morphosyntactic features that follow rules similar to those found in other variations of language dialects. These differences illustrate that while Lolspeak originated as a play on bad grammar, there is a degree of consistency that points to Lolspeak as a form of English that is different rather than bad one that is potentially useful in the study of the structure of language.

Balanyuk S. S. Word-Combination Characteristics of English Adjectives Denoting "Particular" with Nouns

The author considers syntagmatic peculiarities of English adjectives denoting "particular". The research has been conducted on the basis of the modern English fiction using some techniques of the quantitative linguistics. The obtained results of frequency, intensiveness and some other parameters of the meaning have led to the opportunity to single out the most widely used adjectives of the group: particular, special, peculiar, unique, especial, unusual, and specific. Their generalizing meaning appeared to be highly dependent on the meaning of the noun they conjugate with in the text. Samples of sentences are given for the most typical word combinations. They have been analyzed according to the data systemized and offered in the table.

With focus on the social and linguistic peculiarities of the communicative situation "reconciliation", the article considers explicit / implicit apology verbal strategies, tactics and techniques, used by a reconciliation initiator. The aim of the author is also to describe specialized / auxiliary means of expressing a request for an apology, as well as the place and function of reconciliation in the conflict discourse. The study allows defining peculiarities of prosodic, kinesthetic, mimic, proxemics means of nonverbal communication which are used to convey consent for the request of reconciliation. The theoretical positions and thoughts are illustrated by the examples from the Ukrainian literature of Õ²Õ ÕÕ² centuries.

Yemets O. V. Stylistic Criteria for Investigation of Pragmatics of Literary Text

The article is aimed at determining the major stylistic devices which are used to create pragmatic effect in the literary text. Pragmatic stylistics is a relatively new branch of stylistics, and the criteria for investigating pragmatic effect in fiction have not been clearly formulated. The principle of investigation in this paper is the famous principle of communication cooperation suggested by H. P. Grice, particularly his maxims of cooperation. The deliberate flouting of maxim of quality is realized by means of original tropes: metaphor, simile, hyperbole, meiosis, antonomasia, as well as allusion. The flouting of quantity maxim can be performed with the help of stylistic convergence, as the manifestation of redundancy, repetitions and, in the plot, by means of the break in the narration. These stylistic devices are more typical for prose texts.

This article explains explicit and implicit English negation with the help of image schemas which are considered to be the elementary mental mechanisms of conceptualization. It has been determined that explicit and implicit negative units represent the initial, intermediate and final stages of change of relations between referents. The negative representation of change is based on the mental operations of deactivation and activation of elements of image schemas. The cessation point is the main distinguishing feature of the explicit and implicit negation. The cessation of relations between referents is represented explicitly at the syntactic and morpheme level and revealed through the componential analysis of the implicit lexical negatives.

The productive models of multi-component term-combination formation in English pharmaceutical terminology are determined. It is ascertained that pharmaceutical multi-component term formation is the successive concretization of the core term by additional attributing components. The usage of multi-component term-combinations is intended to nominate pharmaceutical notions more explicitly. Too cumbersome structures tend to be abbreviated.

The indefinite nominative-referring units are built according to semantic and structural patterns. The semantic patterns determine the structure of indefinite units that denote perceptive activity. The structural patterns reveal the structure of indefinite units as the components of predicative constructions. The indefinite nominative-referring units characterize objects in relation to their colour, size, height and in accordance with the stages of mental activity of the individual. The semantic patterns of indefinite nominative-referring units are distinguished on the basis of such processes as perception, imagination, planning and naming.

Factors that influence translators’ private self-censorship are analyzed. There has been offered a definition of translators’ self-censorship.

The article is devoted to one of the cognitive aspects of the research of the new medical vocabulary and phraseology of the modern English language, namely the mapping of the modern medical reality by the representatives of the English-speaking communities. The multiple approaches to the definition of the concept "world view" are analyzed, the typology of the medical "view of the world" which is understood as a segment of the more general national view of the world is offered and the results of conceptualization and categorization of the new medical phenomena by the members of the English-speaking community are summarized. The author finds it reasonable to differentiate between the naive and the professional view of the world in terms of perceiving new medical reality.

The repetition is considered as one of the principles of author’s poetics of B. Brecht, characterized by polyphonic interaction of deep artistic strategies.

Tatarovska Î. V. Pragmatic Character of Units-Components of Negative Intensification

The article defines the methods existing in English to express negative intensification. They are also analyzed from the point of view of syntactic, semantic and pragmatic criteria. The research is based upon the British component of International English Corpus (ICE – GB) produced and analyzed by London University College and also on the information issued in the questionnaires for English speakers. It has been determined that these idiomatic expressions are used in modern English in order to strengthen and emphasize the negative speech. Negative intensification shows a wide variation not only across the medium of expression used, whether it is speech or writing, but also across general English varieties as regards the different negative forms used, the position of these in the clause.

The stylistic effect can be created on the basis of the composite contrast and macro-context or cultural background.

Different types of discourse are realized in set of genres – typical patterns of cognitive and communicative practices, and genres are considered to be meaningful frame structures.The article suggests the technique to study of the linguistic units of unreal mythologically oriented discourse as a specific author’s text product, characterizing the original picture of the world with stereotypical socio-cultural situations and mythological scenarios.

The matter of this article is a statistic-linguistic analysis and its peculiarities in linguistics based on the quantitative representation of biblical illustrations in the modern German publicism. There difference between the frequency of use of parables and of their structural-semantic modifications in the religious and socio-political media texts has been shown. The indices of chi-square distribution (õ2), pair-correlation coefficient (r) and Chuprov’s coefficient of colligation (K) for 67 parables and 53 modifications have been calculated.

The uses of nominal sentences in mass media discourse based on Internet media and online newspapers are analyzed. The main common and distinctive features of the structure, semantics and stylistics of nominal sentences in Italian and Ukrainian are presented. Definitions of nominal sentences as a syntactic unit in Italian and Ukrainian linguistic traditions are analyzed. Problems of classification of nominal sentences are depicted. Controversies concerning nominal sentences are listed and assignments for further research are scheduled.

Salamakha M. Y. Antonymy in Paradigmatic Relations of the English Environmental Terminology

The article focuses on the actual problems of the antonymy in the English Environmental Terminology. The peculiarities of antonymous relations at the level of paradigmatics have been studied. Antonymous pairs and rows have been found. Structure, composition and semantic types of antonyms have been analyzed. Antonyms of the analyzed terminology have been classified according to several criteria: 1) according to their structure (antonymous word-terms and antonymous terminological word-combinations); 2) according to the type of contrast (contrary, contradictory, vectorial and complementary antonyms) and 3) according to the volume of contrasting semantics of the antonymous pair elements (absolute and partial antonyms).

Horoz A. V. Modelling Strategies of the Text Worlds of Anti-Utopia in G. Orwell’s and A. Burgess’s Works

In this article the author highlights the problem of symbolic parameter, which constracts the dividing line between utopia and anti-utopia and determines modelling strategies of these genetically related, but different text worlds. From this point of view of the concept "symbolic forms" of the E. Cassirer’s culture G. Orwell's novel "1984" and A. Burgess’s novel "The Wanting Seed"are analyzed. It is shown how the writers create anti-utopia’s model of the future, in which due to destruction of a symbolic dominant, culture as historical form declines.

The article focuses on the analysis of the English-language business discourse thematic aspect, in particular on one of its themes – FINANCE. The basis of the study is discourse theme hierarchic model including three levels: theme, subtheme and topic. Defining the subthemes and topics of the theme FINANCE proceeds the establishing of the list of referent situations belonging to each of the topics. The use of special economic sources gives the grounds to treat a certain situation as the one proper to the object sphere FINANCE.
